U.S. ski cross hopes not good, or are they?

U.S. ski cross hopes not good, or are they?: "

Suffice it to say the U.S. won't have quite the impact on the Olympic debut of ski cross the way it did the introduction of snowboard cross four years ago.

In Torino, Seth Wescott captured the sport's first Olympic gold medal. The next day, Lindsey Jacobellis was poised to win the first women's title, but she crashed coming down the homestretch and took silver. Still, two medals were more than any other nation.

At this point in ski cross, the U.S. will be lucky to put a racer in the 2010 competition, let alone win a medal. No U.S. women qualified for the Vancouver Games, and both of the American men are injured.
